Welcome to the Lionfish Hunter blog. Here you can post your lionfish comments, tell hunting stories, store data, and upload pictures and videos. Scientist at NOAA research center, government agencies in the Bahamas, U.S., and Bermuda will use the information in this blog for their ongoing research regarding the destructive lionfish invasion of the Caribbean, and Atlantic oceans. Email me your lionfish data ( lionfishhunter@me.com ) and I will be happy to post it here for you.

I am going to Flordia with a few friends of mine and we are wanting to go hunting in a place that is right off shore. Any sugestions?
I am hearing that Key Largo is a good place to go???
Unfortunately/fortunately for you, the Upper Keys are plagued with the nasty Lionfish. Several tournaments dedicated exclusively to capturing the succulent invaders have been organized with great success.
You will encounter lots of Lionfihes on the reef.
For your fishing base I would suggest Tavernier, a small town conveniently located between Key Largo and Islamorada, with lots of dive tour operators and the proximity of the best diving sites. There is a Marina and a tackle shop in Tavernier Creek which links the Ocean and the Bay.
Come as you are and have fun !
