New Caribbean Report

Hola fellow lion fish hunters, We are a dive shop on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic. The lion fish have really tried to take over here. Our fellow dive shops have been able to kill many, but until the resident Dominicans choose to eat them, it will be for naught. Look for us at superiordivesosua.com. There is a facebook link there. Here is a photo that we took 5 days ago. 33 lion fish on 1 dive, 3 divers. Chuck Ceccarelli Superior Dive Sosua

Last year during our trip to Curacao, we used a dry bag to store the lionfish we caught and bring it to the surface to give it to the restaurant and the locals so as to start a demand for this fish. It was difficult to get them in and as you try to put another one in, the previous tries to escape, which means you have to spend valuable minutes to kill the fish while there are many others in close proximity. This year we learned about the zookeeper containment unit and was able to obtain one which help me alone get 20 lionfish in 40 mins while with the dry bag we could maximum get 8 lionfish. 36 lionsfish in two dives at the same site and we had dinner enough for 6 people. Please check zookeeper containment unit online. It sure is very efficient.
